50 Cent Visits Somalia, Pledges To Feed One Billion People

WE ARE HIP HOP! ARE YOU?

On Wednesday (February 8 ) 50 Cent flew solo to Somalia to see firsthand the affects of famine. "Children going hungry everyday, even dying everyday from hunger. I am going to keep sending images from out here. I need you to take these photos and re-post to your friends. The world needs to see what is going on,” 50 said on Facebook. For over 60 years, Somalia has suffered from various forms of famine, caused by droughts, poor harvest and infectious deceases. The threat of famine may increase rapidly over the next two months and after seeing this, 50 agreed to team up with the World Food Program to provide 1 billion meals for starving individuals throughout the country.
The threat has also caused tens of thousands of women and children to flee the country. 50 Cent revealed that he was going take 10 cents from every “Street King” energy drink he sold and donate it towards the WFP’s campaign to end hunger in Somalia. The British Government estimated that 50,000 to 100,000 people have died in the past year from the country’s strife, and 50 is on a mission to show the world the devastation that is occurring throughout the week.
"So I just got back from somalia it was crazy out there. I have never seen anything like it. I'm going to feed a billion people [with] Street King," 50 tweeted when he returned to NYC on Friday.
