Drake Makes Up With Tattoo Artist, Another Fan Gets Drake Tattoo

WE ARE HIP HOP! ARE YOU?
By Nadeska Alexis
In the last installation of this story, Drake paid a visit to the tattoo artist responsible for inking “DRAKE” across a fan’s forehead—to “give him a warning”—and now the two have finally put their differences behind them. The tattoo artist tweeted the reconciliation so all could see, and meanwhile, Complex tracked down a fan who tattooed a picture of the fan with the Drake forehead tattoo on her arm. Get it? Neither do we.
Drake Addresses Fan's Forehead Tattoo, Threatens Artist
On Wednesday (January 25) the tattoo artist, Kevin Campbell, directed the following tweet at Drake. “Nice talking to you buddy, glad everything's cleared up. It's good that something positive came out of this whole fiasco. Stay up,” he wrote, following up with, “Drake beef officially squashed... Everybody can now move on. Only positivity from here on out.” Whew. Just when we thought this thing could potentially go on forever.
Woman Tattoos Drake's Name Across Her Forehead
Then, in an added twist, Complex unearthed the above photo of another fan who decided to tattoo a photo of the girl with the forehead tattoo on her own arm. Since this one isn’t a forehead tattoo, does that mean that Drake won’t waste his time sending in the muscle again?

Pair Of Film Makers Plan Documentary On History, Rising Popularity Of Cassette Tapes

WE ARE HIP HOP! ARE YOU?
cassette tapes
If you grew up or were an adult in the late 1980s and 1990s, you are sure to remember cassette tapes.
The cassette contributed to the end of the 8-track and was one of the most common formats for pre-recorded music from the 1970s through the early 1990s. When CDs were introduced, but have declined in popularity ever since ... and led to major music labels no longer issuing them.
The cassette didn't offer the best sound quality and didn't hold up with constant usage, but it gave consumers the ability to share and distribute music/audio easily ... and don't forget: it also helped birth a trend that is still very much popular today: mixtapes.
Apparently, the cassette tape is making a quiet comeback, as indie labels began issuing tape-only releases around the world. Why? Maybe nostalgia? We're not sure, but whatever the case may be, a pair of New York-based fellas have begun filming a documentary, based around the cassette culture ... in the past and present.
Dubbed "Cassette: A Documentary", the film highlights cassette culture then and now ... from its beginnings to its dominance in the 1980s to his decline to its rise in popularity today.
The documentary is still unfinished, and its creators (Zack Taylor and Seth Smoot) have launched a KickStarter campaign to find backers to finish it.
With $25,000 in financing, they hope to finish producing the film, conducting interviews with various manufacturers, musicians, and historians around the world to cover the cassette's history complete.
Above is a trailer to get a taste of its direction.
To help, visit their KickStarter.com page to donate, which comes with different levels of incentives -- such as Associate Producer credits, a limited edition signed and numbered poster, a custom-made mixtape, tickets to the premiere and more.

Amber Rose's Former Publicist Calls Her 'A Liar', Says She Stole & Cheated On Kanye West

WE ARE HIP HOP! ARE YOU?
Amber Rose
The controversy surrounding Amber Rose continues.

In recent weeks, the former stripper-turned-socialite has been making her rounds, promoting a new Wiz Khalifa-assisted single and an upcoming movie role ... but has also come out making claims that Kim Kardashian was the contributing factor to her break-up with Kanye West.

Rose's former publicist has come forward making his own set of claims, though, which contradict her story.

Her former publicist, Janero Marchand, recently spoke to TheYBF.com, saying that Kim didn't break her and Kanye up, but instead, Amber did ... with her infidelity and thieving ways.

He claims to have been the person that initially introduced Rose to Kanye, who went on to hire her to star in a music video to his song, "Robocop." However, she tried to steal his commission and lie about it.

And ... that's just the tip of the iceberg of what he had to say.

"I was the person who introduced Kanye West and Amber Rose. Amber wanted me to lie to Kanye when he asked me about her stealing. My integrity and morals I was raised on would not allow me to do something like that," Marchand said. "I just want the public to know that I am a man that conducts my business with integrity and morals. And, I support my clients 100% until they do something that is unethical or unlawful business wise. I never had intentions to speak on this subject, but seeing Amber being dishonest to the media about the reason she and Kanye broke up was the last straw.

"Kanye is a good person. He helped book my first two music videos, and if it wasn't for him co-signing Amber, she would not be in the position she is in today," he continued.

According to Marchand, Rose allowed the appeal of money and fame get in the way of self-respect and diginity ... and for this reason, Kanye broke up with her, among other things.

"Amber Rose allowed fame, money, and greed to get in the way of her self respect, dignity, and morals. Kim Kardashian did not break up their relationship, Amber did," he said. "Amber's lack of gratitude and disrespect for the people who paved the way for her is unconscionable and repugnant."

He claims Rose got paid $100,000 for her appearance in Kanye's "Robocop," and after got paid, tried to lie about it in an attempt to cut him out.

Marchand uses this as one example of the model's stealing ways, in addition to trying to steal from Kanye too.

"That 'Robocop' video was set to really break Amber's career and make her a movie star since 90% of the video was centered around her. It was a $1 mill budget video, one of Kanye's most expensive videos," Marchand explains. "Amber got paid $100,000 for it and I was suppose to get 20% of that, but she had the people pay her directly and try and cut me out of the equation with hopes I never found out. I knew the guy who paid her for the video and he later told me about it. And when I asked her about the money, she was caught off guard that I knew she already got paid. And told me she only got $10,000, but didn't know I saw the receipt of how much she got paid. So that ended our business relationship indefinitely."

And as for the reason why "Robocop" was never released, Marchand claims Kanye shelved it because he caught Amber cheating.

"It was put on hold and never released after Kanye caught Amber cheating. Kanye to this day thanked me for my honesty," Marchand claims. "Once I told Kanye the truth, he later caught Amber red handed when she accidentally called an ex of hers with him on the phone. He wrote a song about it called 'Blame Game'."

At press time, Rose has not addressed the claims.

According to TheYBF.com, Marchand is prepring the release of a new documentary, titled "The Michael Jordan of Models: This Is Janero," set to drop in February.

In it, he will discuss the Amber/Kanye story in detail.

Over the past month or so, rumors have been running rampant over talk that Chris Brown and Rihanna are getting back to, or already together.

However, Breezy's rep tells TMZ that's just not true.

Chris' rep, however, says he was actually with his current girlfriend model Karrueche Tran.

The rep says Rihanna and Brown aren't together, and he was not with Rihanna on Sunday night. He maintains that they are just friends.

Diddy Launching A Music-Themed Cable Network Named Revolt

WE ARE HIP HOP! ARE YOU?
Diddy is expanding his Bad Boy empire ... again. The hip-hop mogul is reportedly planning the launch of a music-themed cable network by the end of the year.
Sources tell Broadcasting & Cable that Diddy's channel will be called Revolt, and is set to launch on December 12 (12/12/12).
Former MTV programming chief Andy Schuon is said to be involved in the "well-funded" venture. He previously headed a music channel called International Music Feed (IMF), which was acquired by Ovation TV before being discontinued.
Diddy is reportedly in talks with Comcast and Time Warner Cable (TWC) to distribute Revolt, which B&C described as "a music and music news channel with an urban skew."
One source likened it to the old days of MTV, but catered to an African-American audience.
A TWC spokesperson said the company has had "some discussions" regarding Revolt and Diddy, but did not have a comment at this time.
Diddy has yet to comment on reports.

Oprah Not Godmother To Jay-Z And Beyonce's Blue Ivy

WE ARE HIP HOP! AREYOU?
Get More:
By Rob Markman
When it comes to Blue Ivy Carter, Oprah Winfrey is not the godmother. On Wednesday rumors began to swirl that Jay-Z and wifey Beyoncé bestowed gave Winfrey the honor and chose Hov’s homie Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith as the baby’s godfather. Still no word on whether or not Ty Ty will be Blue Ivy’s godfather, but when it comes to Oprah’s relationship with the baby the rumor is not true says the media queen’s bestie Gayle King.
"Let me just say, if that’s true, it is news to her. It is news to her. You know, she was heading to South Africa when baby Blue was born," King said of the rumors on Friday on her “CBS This Morning” news show.
Blue Ivy was born on January 7 and has since caused quite the media storm. There has been lots of speculation on many aspects of her young life. "It's absolutely not true that she's the godmother," King said. "She's friends with them, of course, and likes them both very much. She's working on sending them a baby gift. She hasn't even had time to send a baby gift because she's been away."
Earlier this week, Bey’s buddy Kelly Rowland spoke to E! News about the baby. "She's absolutely beautiful!" Rowland said about her pal's new bundle of joy. "And I say that with such a huge grin! I'm so excited.
"We all just stared at her," she added about meeting the baby for the first time. "I just stared at her. She is so beautiful."
When asked what she bought little Ms. Carter, Kelly kept things on the hush. "That's between me and Blue," she said. "But you best believe her auntie will have her dressed to impress."
Andrea Edmunds, the president of PoshTots, a designer of choice for celebrity parents looking to create a dream nursery, clued MTV News into some cool gifts that Baby Blue may have already gotten.
Who should Jay-Z and Beyonce name as Baby Blue's godparents? Tell us in the comments!
